It’s been a while, but I thought I fill all of you in on a Storm Over South Central update: the book cover for the anthology will be on its way soon. The person designing it sent a message to me via social media letting me know it will be finished shortly. I’m still making changes, working on a few things before it’s sent to the hands of an editor. To say this process is exciting is an understatement. It’s a big deal to me and I hope you folks will enjoy it as much as I’ve had fun rewriting these stories and poems I wrote so long (and not so long) ago.
Storm Over South Central: An Anthology from the Heart of a Man will be out sometime before the end of this year. Of course, there is always a chance the release date may be held off until 2017 and I would like to get this right since this is my first book in thirteen years. Even with this possibility, it is my hope to publish the book this year.
I also received a bit of good news from one of the organizers of the Compton Urban Book Expo, March 19. I have agreed to moderate a panel at the event. Although I’m not sure which direction the panel is going, chances are we’ll have some outstanding authors to ask questions to with books I’m hopeful our audience will support and buy copies from. It’s a good feeling to attend an event as an author again, not as an executive director of another literary expo. I don’t know what the reaction will be since this is my first time back in L.A. selling books in about three years. One can only hope the reactions will be positive and rewarding.
I’ll have more updates on the expo later on and Storm, but please share this hashtag when the release date and cover are revealed: #StormOverSC. There is a book to promote you know!
